Well, we're home.......the trip was amazing! We didn't do much of anything but enjoy each other's company. We left on Friday after graduation but the traffic was HORRIBLE! It took me 2 hours to go 37 miles! I was fighting regular rush hour traffic and the graduation traffic. So it took us 4 hours just to get to Lafayette, LA. That's normally a 2.5 hour drive. We stayed there for the night and got to dad's on Saturday by about 2:00pm. He had my aunt and uncle over for a steak barbeque. It was really nice to see them again too. Dad sure has a funny relationship with his brother. They can joke and argue over just about anything! It's like they're kids again each time they're together. I am so glad that they live across the street from each other. What a Blessing! Then Sunday we all went to dad's church. We had fun seeing all the friends he talks about all the time. I got to kid him about all the widow ladies hitting on him. He doesn't have much interest in them but it's fun to watch! Monday and Tuesday was spent at the beach (as Kim put it "A day in Destin without going to the beach is a wasted day!) and then helping dad de-clutter the book shelves in the living room. He was tired of all those books and wanted some of the pictures on the walls put on the shelves instead. It was fun looking at all the pictures that were hidden behind the others in the frames! That's about it. I'm really proud of dad's attitude. He's lonely for mom but has done such a great job in getting out and living his life. He is an amazing, God loving man. I am truly, truly Blessed to call him my father.
On another note, I'm also very Blessed by the man I call my husband. Kim was so patient while dad and I sat outside and talked on the porch for hours on end. Poor Kim just had to listen to us and sit, and sit, and sit, and sit. I can not tell you how blessed I truly feel. I don't know many other wives who can honestly say that they still love their husbands and truly LIKE them too. God is good!
Well...got home and it was Dan and Kristy's 3rd Anniversary. We hurried home so we could be back in time to babysit our little Bug-bug so they could go to a dinner and show. Kaylee is growing in leaps and bounds! She's standing by herself (as long as she doesn't realize it!). I guess her other Nana taught her to say "Nana" because she was calling me that! YEAH! She also says "Du" for duck, Ma-Ma, Da-Da, can bark like a dog and meow like a cat. She sure loves the books!!!! When I thought we were done reading, she climbed back into my lap as if to say "Hey, I'm not done yet!" And talk about an easy baby!!!! When we thought it was time for her to go to bed (we were tired after the drive), we just changed her diaper, gave her a bottle, and then laid her in the pack-n-play. She didn't even make a peep! What an angel!!!!
OK - I've blabbered on and on.....here's a few pictures as a reward for reading this far! HAH!
